Chorus History

The Santee Community Chorus was formed in March of 2011.  Our Director is Elizabeth Kimery.  An accomplished, classically trained opera singer, Ms. Kimery directs various choirs of all types and ages.  She began the Santee Community Chorus with Anne Ault, now the chorus’ Manager, and Jan Ault, our amazing accompanist.  We were inspired by a BBC television show called “The Choir” about a man in England who forms singing groups in schools and communities to build relationships, build community, and revive the vanishing art of people singing together.

The Santee Community Chorus is dedicated to bringing people together to sing and to share this music in our community and surrounding communities in the San Diego area.  We perform at many public venues and at private residential facilities around the county.

Please consider joining us or attending one of our concerts soon.
